Hello, friends!
I have been obsessed with watermelon lately. Can you tell you?
I was pinning fun ideas and stumbled upon this fun tutorial here. I figured I needed to try. I worked on this DIY watercolor watermelon gift paper and I had so much fun! Here’s the final result! Doesn’t it look pretty? In love! Would you like to make your own?
Here’s what you will need for this fun project!
- Wrapping Paper *I used white Kraft paper
- Paint bowls *It can be a plastic cup, whatever works best for you.
- Red, Green and Black Paint *I used lush foliage, black and red.
- Paint brushes
- Potato wedges *I cut 3 different sizes just for extra fun!
- Baker’s twine and our free “You’re Sweet” tags
Step 1: Cut a piece of the wrapping paper big enough for your gift.
Step 2: Squeeze some red paint on a disposable plate and start stamping the wrapping paper with the potato wedge. Great thing about this project is: the watermelon slices don’t need to look perfect!
It will look like this. Once you are done with this first step, let it dry.
Step 3: Squeeze some green paint in a plastic bowl. Use a brush and paint around the edges.
It will look like this:
Step 4: Squeeze some black paint in another plastic bowl. Use a very thin brush or the tip of the brush to add the “seeds”.
Don’t they look super cute?
Step 5: Let the paper dry completely before wrapping your gift.

I hope you enjoyed this fun tutorial and gift wrapping idea! You can even get the kids to help. My little boy loved stamping watermelon wedges on a plastic paper!
